A Call to Worship - Terri Davis

A CALL TO WORSHIP

Is the lord calling you to freedom and liberty when you worship?  Has he been tugging at your heart to come closer to him.  He wants desperately to have intimacy with you.  For me, for years I always wanted to express myself during worship but never got past raising my hands during slow songs and jumping up and down during fast songs.  If you have felt this way also there is a reason why.  He wants to dance with you.  He wants you to have freedom to express your love for him.  I had an experience once where I started dancing during worship and I lost myself in his throne room.  I didn’t know until the song was over what I was doing in the natural.  All I know is that people were crying and were touched by it.  We can experience heaven here on earth if we are open to it. Some of the most difficult times in my life I got through because of dancing.  When you are desperate for change you have a tendency to be more real before God. You don’t care what anybody thinks of you, you just need him.  Doesn’t his word say in (John 4:23-24)  “But the hour is coming, and now is when the true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth; for the father is seeking such to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth”. We can come to him just as we are.

Some of the most powerful times when have seen dancing is when the men dance.  In Israel, the Israeli Military use dancing as means for military training.  It is highly respected in Israel.  The prophets were dancing, the priests were dancing, kings were dancing, and armies were dancing.  They danced as David did (2 Sam 6:14-16) “Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing  a linen Ephod.  So David and all the house of Israel brought the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpets. Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City Of David, Michal, Sauls daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart.  I don’t think King David cared what anybody thought of him do you?  Men dancing is not a sign of weakness but of strength.  It is confidence in God.  Laying down your strength for his.  It is awesome to see the men taking their place and leading the way. Don’t hold back any longer answer the call!
