Worship With Thanksgiving - John Davis

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with THANKSGIVING; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us WORSHIP and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. [Psalms 95:1-7]

The last part of vs. 7 - And the sheep of His hand, can also be worded "under His care". In these times of economic uncertainty it's easy to get distracted. If we are not careful we can slowly get caught up in the fear, questioning, and stress, that would only lead you to doubt and unbelief. And if you let the cares of the world swallow you up, do you think that you would really have a heart to worship ? No matter what you're going through, worship will get you to the other side! When Paul and Silas were beaten and then thrown into the "deepest" part of the prison what did they do? They didn’t pray "O Lord get us out of this mess!" They started to WORSHIP the Lord. They were not singing "Just as I am" or " I'll fly away", and they weren’t singing for an alter call. They were focused solely on the Lord, singing PSALMS unto Him. And I'll bet that one of those songs were Psalms 23.  Their worship filled the prison until the earth shook and the "chains of bondage" came off and the prison doors were opened! Worship changed the atmosphere allowing YHVH to intervene and set the captives free! And the icing on the cake..... People gave their life to the Lord. AMEN! Gods’ kingdom was advanced and satans kingdom was destroyed, and it all started with worship.

I wonder what would have happened if Paul and Silas would have gotten caught up in the situation instead of worship? I think we know what would have happened..... nothing. But praise YHVH they had a heart of worship, even after being beaten for doing the Lords will. Remember, we are "under His care". Whatever situation, trial, or tribulation we find ourselves in, if we keep our eyes on the Lord and worship Him, we WILL go through. The situation will make us stronger in the Lord and bring us closer to HIM, building our faith and making us an "UNMOVEABLE" force standing on the 'UNMOVEABLE ROCK!"
To be continued next month..... Shalom!
