Worship

We believe that worship is a vital part of a Believer’s walk. While the expression of worship may vary in each individual, the heart to worship must be the same. Our worship involves music, dance, instruments, song, and prayer. In addition to that, we also worship through our studying of God’s Word.

We worship to draw closer to our Creator and give Him all that we have. Worship is between the one who worships and the One who is being worshipped. It is not a show. It is personal, yet is also corporate. Our desire is to be a body of Believers who worship Yahweh in Spirit and in Truth. We live our lives to worship Him.

Family

The family is at the heart of this fellowship. Families at Ruach are different sizes; but all are equally valued. We encourage people to accept all of the blessings that Yahweh will give them, children included. We believe that strong families are the building blocks of His Kingdom. Many of our families home school their children out of a desire to train them up in the way they should go. We do believe that this is part of the spirit of Elijah moving in our world today: “to turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers…” Malachi 4:5&6.

A foundational belief of this fellowship is that men and women have distinct and equally important roles in the family and community of Believers. Men are to walk in their role as the priest of their home striving to walk like Titus 1&2 explains: serving, protecting, providing, caring for their family, and showing honor to their wives at all times.

Women should strive to emulate the life pattern outlined in Titus 2 and Proverbs 31. We place great value on the role of women in the Body of Messiah and encourage them to find joy in their role as mothers, caregivers, nurturers, and managers of their home. While at the same time, they are valued within the community and are welcome to participate in the work of the ministry.

We also believe that each family is its own entity and, while part of the congregation, each family has a leader who is accountable to Yahweh for how they live out their faith. We respect Biblical headship within the home and encourage fathers to lead their families and parents to teach their children the commandments of God.

Each member is a valuable part of the larger family of Ruach Ministries.  We desire to equip every person to fulfill their gifts and callings for the Kingdom. Please see our brochure titled “Mishpocha—Moving forward with family of Ruach Ministries” for more information if you desire to commit to this body of Believers.

Israel

We serve the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel . It is through faith in Messiah Y’shua’s atoning sacrifice that we are joined to the nation (family) of Israel. We are Abraham’s seed and heirs of the promises given him by Yahweh. As followers of Y’shua who have been empowered by His Spirit, we have a deep love for the land, people, and Scriptures of Israel. We support Israel through various methods and are very focused on events in the Land of our forefathers.

As the people of Israel, we keep covenant with the God of Israel by honoring His Torah (first five books of the Bible) as instructions in righteousness.  We celebrate the Feasts of the LORD as part of our identity in Messiah and as prophetic shadows of the hope that is to come.

Community

Ruach Ministries International is a collection of families and individuals who truly care for one another. We laugh and cry together. We attempt to meet each other’s needs in small and large ways. While separated by geography, we are spiritually together.

Our sense of the larger community of Believers continues to grow as well. Through our association with the Messianic Israel Alliance, we are in contact with like-minded people throughout the world. We hope to encourage them as much as they encourage us. The Messianic Israel Alliance provides us with a sense of being part of the greater community of faith in the body of Messiah.

Sabbath—A Holy Convocation

We are instructed in Lev. 23:2 to gather on the Sabbaths because they are “the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations…” for something to be holy, it must be set apart from the regular routine of life.

A convocation is a place of sacred assembly. We encourage one another when we come together on the Sabbaths to be a holy people, dedicated to serving the living God. It is important that the conversation of our lives speak of holiness in every manner of our walk including how we conduct ourselves and how we present ourselves.

With this in mind, we encourage modest dress and behavior for all our members. Some men choose to set apart this day by wearing prayer shawls and kippot. Some women choose to cover their heads with hats or veils.

Those who wish to participate in our congregational dance circle are welcome to do so. Please note how a worshipper appears to others, lifting up holy hands is good, but please have shirts that will cover all undergarments. We ask that all worshippers wear shirts that keep their chests and abdomens concealed.

Breaking Bread Together

On Rosh Chodesh (A monthly gathering) we choose to share a meal together. This is a wonderful part of our fellowship. It allows for building relationships, relaxation, and time to discuss our burdens and blessings. We ask that all who participate bring a meal to share.

You should bring Scripturally Kosher food (no pork or shellfish)- enough for your family plus two other people. This will allow us to have a monthly feast and demonstrate hospitality to our guests. Please plan to bring hot food in a container that will keep it hot for a few hours and keep your cold food chilled properly. Come and enjoy!
